Best Budget 4K Action Camera for Vlogging- Which One Should I buy?

What’s up guys this is Akshay here and this is my top five list of the best 4K action camera on the market right now. Now I’m just going to list off the highlight points about each one of these action cameras.

I’ve taken everything from photo quality, video quality, design, durability. Mobile apps ease of use mounting systems all of that in putting this list together. So I’m pretty confident you’ll be able to find the right action camera for you on this list.

So let’s go ahead and get this thing started…

TomTom Bandit 4K Action Camera

So the fifth- Best action camera I choose right now is the TomTom Bandit. Which I’m a huge fan of… It’s their first action camera I think.

They did a great job with this camera. It shoots up to the 4k quality video at 15 frames per second. The media quality overall is just incredible. It’s also really easy to use.

Like probably the easiest to use action camera out there right now. It’s got a sweet mobile app that allows you to edit video on the fly and share all of your content pretty much right away. Then it’s got this thing called data visualization which is where you can overlay things. Like speed and your heart rate. If it’s paired with the heart rate monitor directly onto your video.

So the viewers can get a lot more information about what you’re doing. It has a thing called the Batt Stick. So you can charge it and upload your media at the same time.

Now on the downside, the mounting system would not be my favourite. The microphone is not the best it’s okay. But it’s not the best and it doesn’t ship standard with a waterproof lens. So you got to buy that on the side.

Overall a fantastic 4k action camera though…

  • Up to 4k15
  • Also 2.7k30 & 1080p60
  • Easy to use
  • Great mobile app
  • Batt-Stick is amazing
  • Data visualization!

GoPro Hero 4 Session

Number four on this list is the GoPro Hero 4 Session. Which is probably the best action camera for action sports junkies. If you’re worried about size and weight you can pretty much put this camera anywhere.

It shoots really good video quality at all the way up to 1080p at 60 frames per second.

It’s waterproof without an external housing unit down to 10 meters that’s pretty awesome. Also has dual mics so… One on the front and one on the back. It picks up really great audio.

Then you’ve got the one-touch recording. So you press the button and it starts recording. You press the button again it stops and turns off. So you can really save battery life it has incredible battery life.

But on the downside, it does not have a screen. Unfortunately, there’s no removable battery and it is on the more expensive end for an action camera.

  • Up to 1080p60
  • Waterproof w/o external housing unit
  • Tiny size & lightweight
  • Dual Mics
  • Fantastic battery life
  • Can mount at any angle

GoPro Hero Plus LCD

Alright, so number three is probably the best budget 4K action camera. It’s the GoPro Hero Plus LCD a personal favourite of mine. This is pretty sweet because you do get that LCD touchscreen on the back. Which makes using it really really simple and then also that’s full-colour which is nice as well.

It doesn’t detach from the housing unit. So as long as you’re using the standard back door. It’s waterproof down to a hundred and thirty-one feet I believe which is pretty sweet.

On the downside though it doesn’t have the best mic system. So unless you’re using the skeleton back you’re not going to get great audio in this camera.

But the video quality is all the way up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. It shoots eight-megapixel stills which are pretty awesome. Overall you know I’m really sold on the hero+ LCD. If you’re looking for a budget action camera you’re worried about your wallet definitely go with this camera.

  • Up to 1080p60
  • Colour, touchscreen display
  • Waterproof to 131 ft
  • Budget-friendly
  • Countless mount and accessories
  • Easy to use

Garmin VIRB XE

Number two on this list is the Garmin VIRB XE which has a really sweet action camera. This is another one of those cameras that’s built for action sports.

If you want a camera that collects a lot of information it can show you everything from your heart rate to the temperature to your speed g-force even your location. Because it has built-in GPS it’s pretty incredible.

This is probably the most capable action camera. It also shoots really good quality video at all the way up to 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Doesn’t go up to 4k or 2.7 K but the video quality is definitely good enough. It’s also super rugged and Hardy and has some pretty great software to go along with it.

So overall I’m really happy with the VIRB XE. Also, it is waterproof without an external housing unit all the way down to 50 meters. That means you really don’t need to buy another accessory with it. That’s pretty cool and it works with most of your GoPro accessories too. So no need to switch over to some other system.

  • Up to 1080p60
  • Waterproof to 50m
  • Data visualization!
  • External microphone
  • 1-Touch recording
  • Great battery
  • Ultra-rugged design

GoPro

Now speaking of GoPro that’s going to be number one on this list. The best action camera you can buy right now considering everything I mentioned earlier.

It shoots really incredible video all the way up to 4k at 15 frames per second. I usually do 2.7 K at 30 frames per second and also shoots really great.

Stills it’s got an LCD touchscreen on the back that’s full colour makes using it super easy and then of course with GoPro, you get pretty much every mount and accessory you could ever want.

GoPro’s really the gold standard in 4k action camera but that’s all about it.

  • Up to 4k15, 2.7k30, 1080p60, 720p120
  • Waterproof to 131 ft w/ case
  • Colour touchscreen display
  • Easy to use
  • Countless mounts and accessories

Those are the top five 4k action camera you can buy and if you want to check updated pricing or buy one of them…
